This week we would like to showcase some projects that we have either laser cut or laser engraved out of wood. More specifically, these wooden projects have been produced for companies who require retail interior design props and signage made from plywood, hardwood, MDF and veneered wood.

Laser cut MDF is a versatile and inexpensive material that can be spray painted easily to match branded colour schemes or made to look like materials such as steel or brass, (the Gymshark project will eventually be spray painted to look like metal gym weights).

MDF can also come with veneers such as oak, walnut, beech or cherry. The A board sign for Pinewood Golf, was made from oak veneered MDF, which was laser etched with the company logo and QR code. A much cheaper option than using solid hardwoods.

Specialist shopfitters Realm Projects asked us to laser etch a series of 2-meter-high Ash veneered plywood panels. These panels will serve as interior decoration and information boards for Klattermusen, (a chain of outdoor clothing and equipment shops based throughout Europe). A lot of laser engraving on this project, and probably the largest etching job we have had pass through the workshop, (there were 17 in total)!

Hardwood projects also pass through our workshops, through a little less than MDF or plywood. We recently laser cut some strips of 6mm solid oak edging with a very familiar sports shoe brands logo, (to be installed on a retail display with a sports shop).
